Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launches next week and includes the base game, Phantom Liberty and all updates till now. While CD Projekt RED has made several long-requested additions to the game, from vehicular combat to police chases, it didn’t add the metro system for fast travel that the cinematic trailer promised. That’s changing with update 2.1.
In a recent Twitch stream, the developer revealed that the update will add 19 metro stations. You can use these to fast travel or take a casual ride with the option to skip ahead anytime. You need to complete Konpeki Plaza in the story, and after that, choose from five different metro lines. Just remember where to change lines.
Of course, that’s not all. You can now carry a radio and listen to music on foot, though it automatically switches off during conversations and scripted sequences. You can also replay car races and earn discounts for new vehicles on the Auto Fixer site. Adam Smasher is getting some improvements, and he should hopefully be a more challenging fight.
Five new motorcycles, Silverhand’s Porsche 911 (unlocked through a potential new quest), car chases with gangs you’ve fun afoul of, pursuits by those whose cars you’ve stolen, bike tricks like wheelies and leans (not to mention throwing weapons like knives and axes) are also coming. Also, the massive highway will finally become a functional road with traffic.
If that weren’t enough, more accessibility options – including a feature to remove the hacking minigame’s timer – are also included, with a full list to be revealed. It also seems that players can hang out with their romantic interest, though it’s only teased and not confirmed.
Update 2.1 launches on December 5th alongside the Ultimate Edition. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
