We’ve been looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 for literally years now. Originally announced all the way back in 2012, we’ve only started hearing actual, concrete details about the game itself recently- which, of course, has led to the questions about when it’ll launch becoming even more fervent. While there has been speculation that the highly anticipated RPG will be out as early as later this year itself, CD Projekt RED have stubbornly refused to give a rough window for launch.
And they seem to be sticking to their guns, too. A couple weeks ago, in a Holidays wish posted on the game’s Twitter account, CD Projekt RED pulled the George R.R. Martin trick, telling everyone that Cyberpunk 2077 will be out “when it’s ready”. Which, yeah, you didn’t need to tell us that, CDPR.
On the one hand, it’s good to know they’re taking their time to make sure they release the best game they possible can, and that they’re not talking about a release date until they’re absolutely sure about one- but then again, on the other hand, I really want Cyberpunk 2077. So here’s hoping we hear something more concrete soon.
Meanwhile, recently, we conducted a pretty in-depth interview with the game’s level designer Miles Tost, talking about everything from quests, side quests, and the game’s open world, to its target launch platforms. Read the full interview through here.
