DayZ Sees New Dev Team Members, Bohemia “Effectively Doubling Whole Project”

The open world zombie title grows in size and scope.

Bohemia Interactive’s DayZ is still a long way from a full release, estimated to be some time in 2015, and creator Dean Hall will be leaving the studio in the coming months to focus on new games, but the open world zombie sandbox title is still pushing forward.

On its latest blog update, Bohemia revealed that, “We are inducting a large number of new people to the team, effectively doubling the whole project.”

The developer is currently still working out all the bugs for the game, which remains in alpha stage, but it will begin incorporating new features in the coming months. These include bases, cooking systems, and much more. It doesn’t seem like that full release may be any closer but hopefully the game will reach beta stage by year-end.

DayZ is currently available on Steam Early Access for PC at $29.99. Have you played it? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
