Death Stranding: Akio Otsuka Has Finished His Voice Recording For The Year

The legendary voice actor's work on Death Stranding will now resume in 2019.

Thanks to recent Twitter activity by Hideo Kojima, we know that Japanese voice over recording sessions for Death Stranding are well underway, and now, we’ve received another update on the progress of the same. Recently, legendary voice actor Akio Otsuka – known for providing the Japanese voice for Solid Snake and Naked Snake in the Metal Gear franchise, and will also be playing role in Death Stranding – confirmed that he has wrapped up his work on Death Stranding for 2018, which means that he’ll next be picking things up on the project in 2019 now.

Director Hideo Kojima was, of course, proactive in his response, replying to Otsuka and thanking him for his hard work. Very little is known about what role Otsuka will be playing in Death Stranding. We know that he’s playing the role of a commanding officer, the same role that in the game’s English version is being played by Tommie Earl Jenkins.

Death Stranding is slated for a launch on the PS4. Though it currently has no release date, recently, there’s been some rumblings that it might be launching in 2019. Norman Reedus, who plays the game’s protagonist, and Hideo Kojima have both hinted at the same. Read more about both reports through the links.
