Death Stranding Trailer Was Running On A PS4 Pro In 4K

Kojima talks about his upcoming game.

We were recently treated to a bizarre, outlandish and incredible trailer for Kojima Productions’ upcoming game, Death Stranding. We don’t quite know what it was, but we do know that we liked what we saw. You can view it here.

At yesterday’s PSX event, Hideo Kojima took the opportunity to talk about the game and the trailer in greater detail, and he revealed some interesting details. The entire trailer, Kojima confirmed, was running in real-time on a PS4 Pro, and it was being rendered in 4K resolution. He didn’t elaborate on whether it was native 4K or dynamic 4K, though.

Kojima also spoke a bit more about the early days after his parting with Konami, revealing that he was approached by many major publishers and developers to work with him. Instead, he chose to remain independent, citing wanting to retain creative control over his projects as the reason for doing so.

Death Stranding will launch for the PS4 and PC, but it is without a release date yet. It’s safe to assume that it won’t be out any time before 2019. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage on the game.
