Deathloop Will Feature Ray-Traced Shadows and Ambient Occlusion on PS5

Deathloop's updated PlayStation Store page provides additional technical details.

Given Arkane’s knack for building incredibly immersive worlds brimming with systemic gameplay depth, it should come as no surprise that many are keenly awaiting the launch of Deathloopwhich looks like it’s going to be another home run by the studio. And while additional details on the action-adventure title keep reinforcing the fact that there’s going to be plenty to look forward to from a gameplay perspective, it seems Arkane is leveraging the more powerful hardware of the PS5 to deliver a technically impressive experience as well.

It’s been previously confirmed that Deathloop will run at 4K and 60 frames per second on PS5, and now, with the game’s PlayStation store page having recently been updated, additional details have emerged as well. In addition to HDR support, Deathloop will also feature ray-traced shadows and ambient occlusion. Arkane’s games are never on the cutting edge of technology, even though they’re no visual slouches, but it does seem like Deathloop is going to be a step up for them.

Deathloop is out on May 21 for PS5 and PC.
