A new PvP map debuted with Destiny 2’s Trials of the Nine over the weekend and thankfully, it’s not a one-off occurrence. Bungie announced via its official forums that Eternity is now available in the Competitive playlist for Crucible.
This is the playlist that includes Countdown, the round-based attack and defense based objective mode, and Survival, which is Team Deathmatch but with a set number of respawns per round for each team.
Eternity is interesting because of its clean aesthetic and with its inclusion in the Competitive playlist, players can now practice beforehand. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Eternity will be the next Trials map – this varies each week as Trials of the Nine rolls around.
Along with Emperor’s Respite, which went live after the Leviathan raid was complete, Eternity is yet another post-launch map that Bungie has added to Destiny 2. One would think that more content is on the way for free (aside from the usual events). Stay tuned for more information in the meantime.
