Destiny 2’s next patch, update version 1.1.4, is launching on March 27, and Bungie has been talking about what changes the update is going to bring. The major focus, of course, is on improving the balance to many of the in-game exotic weapons and armour pieces. While not all of those will be receiving tweaks (those being the ones that work well enough as it is), Bungie are focusing on the ones that are not so popular among the playerbase of Destiny 2.
The developer uses the Gravitron Lance rifle as an example, a weapon that people tend to avoid on account of several issues. The incoming patch will be fixing this weapon, as an example, thanks to a number of tweaks, such as reducing the recoil, adding aim assist, and making improvements to its AOE attacks.
As per Bungie’s official announcement, their main aim with the upcoming patch is for it to function as a “tuning pass” for exotic gear by “adding and/or increasing player Power spikes”. Further, the developer claims that though the focus is mostly on items that see low usage by the player base, all in-game items are being considered for tweaks and improvements. The changes made to the Gravitron Lance will be one of the most significant in the upcoming update, but that the balancing issues of several other exotic weapons and armour pieces will be addressed as well.
