In yet another line of ways Bungie is attempting to corral its player base into its own style of playing the game, Destiny 2’s Faction Rally has a limit to the number of Engrams you can grind out. Bungie itself specified that the first 30 Faction Engrams will award gear and weapons during the event.
If you follow any of the numerous farming methods for Tokens, then you’ll hit that number pretty easily. However, past that, you’ll only receive shaders from the Engrams. So if you don’t receive the weapon or armour piece you want, then you’ll have to either do it on another character or wait till the next Faction Rally.
And no, Bungie hasn’t outlined why this cap exists. The response would probably be something about not having time to explain something they don’t understand.
It was also pointed out that when destroying enemy supplies for Tokens, only the player who actually lands the killing shot will receive a Token. Everyone else gets nothing. So yes, this is probably the best possible argument available for NOT playing this social game in a social manner.
The Faction Rally ends on October 3rd at 2 AM PST. How are you finding it so far? Let us know in the comments.
