Destiny 2: Forge of Hope Out in Q4 2017, Runs On New Engine – Rumour

Heading to PS4 Pro and possibly Scorpio.

Take this with a heavy grain of salt but ahead of Activision’s quarterly earnings report, a Reddit user named Inside_Leaks claims to have information Destiny 2.

To be titled “Destiny 2: Forge of Hope“, it will arrive in Q4 2017 with a launch window of November 4th to 18th. It will arrive on PS4, PS4, Pro, Xbox One and PC. An Xbox Scorpio version is still to be confirmed. There will still be console exclusive content for PlayStation but now for three months at a time.

Interestingly, it seems Destiny 2 has a new engine built from the ground up to allow for the rapid creation of new content. Bungie will also apparently have an event every one to two months with themes (much like Overwatch), thus introducing new narrative paths and mechanics along the way.

Again, take all this information with a healthy source of skepticism (especially since, as another user pointed out, it’s not possible to have rebuilt an entire engine in that amount of time). We’ll have more information to share on the leak so stay tuned.
