Bungie dropped quite the bombshell at E3 2018 when it revealed Destiny 2: Forsaken’s story trailer. Basically, during the escape of inmates from the Prison of Elders, lovable rogue Cayde-6 dies. Players have since banded together to promise death for his murderer, Prince Uldren Sov.
Of course, other more tangible details have been coming post-E3. Bungie’s Scott Taylor and Steve Cotton spoke to GamesRadar and offered some rather interesting new details about new and returning activities alike.
Forsaken will have four new Strikes with one being exclusive to PS4. As per Cotton, “We’re really excited, they’re all really good fun.” Daily Heroic Story Missions will also be making a return, allowing replays of the campaign missions at higher difficulties (and presumably better rewards). “We’re bringing back Daily Heroic Story missions, so we’re actually adding more ways to go out and get more Power.
“You can do the Heroic Story missions, other daily challenges, some that are less frequent than daily but more frequently than every week, that kind of stuff. But Strikes are there. Our goal is to get you to play Strikes better than we actually have over the last year.”
Taylor added that, “We’re doing a bunch of things that…I’m actually really excited about what we’re doing with Strikes.” Unfortunately, more information couldn’t be offered on the same. Given how Destiny 2 Strikes, especially Heroic Strikes with the recent negative modifiers, aren’t as highly regarded as Destiny 1, this change can’t come fast enough.
Destiny 2: Forsaken releases on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will require ownership of the base game and both available DLC packs – Curse of Osiris and Warmind.
