Bungie have revealed the full extent of the changes they are planning to make for the combat in Destiny 2 with the upcoming Forsaken expansion in a livestream (which you can watch for yourself below). For anyone who was burned by what they deemed was Bungie taking away the nuance and depth from Destiny‘s combat with the launch of Destiny 2 last year, these changes will come as good news.
So, for example, random rolls for weapons perks are back, which we’ve reported on previously as well: this means that loot drops are automatically going to be more varied than they were before, meaning even technically duplicate drops can have some use for you. This addresses the core problem of loot drops in Destiny 2 simply not being very exciting, as until now, they were static and pre-determined.
Bungie has also announced there will be nine new Supers, with every Super getting associated perks as well; existing Supers are also being tweaked. Changes are also coming to PvP. The most important change of these is that when you respawn, you will always have ammo on you. This probably helps bring down the average TTK, and also leads to less downtime, and more action in every match.
