Promised as a way for solo players to find interested groups for activities like Nightfalls and Raids, Bungie has now announced that Destiny 2’s Guided Games feature will be available on September 12th. However, it will be in a “limited access soft beta” which means only a select few solo players will be able to try it.
“For Guided Games to have a successful launch, we need time for enough players to form into real Clans and be ready to guide other Guardians. If there are too many solo Seekers and not enough Clan Guides, the queues for matching will be quite long,” said the developer in its recent weekly update.
To that end, a few solo players will be able try out the beta for Nightfall Guided Games on September 12th at 10 AM PT. Roughly 30 to 40 percent of players will be given access though it will also depend on the clans that participate in Destiny 2’s first week. On September 26th at 10 AM PT, 100 percent of players will be given access for Nightfall and Raid Guided Games.
Given how this is the first time Bungie has ever attempted such a feature, it’s not the worst idea to roll it out slowly and ease players in slowly while clans have time to grow and assist those running solo. Destiny 2 is out on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4 while the PC version arrives on October 24th.
