Bungie has a lot to hype up for Destiny 2 in the coming weeks. In its latest weekly update, the developer revealed that Iron Banner, the end-game PvP activity from Destiny 1, would be returning with Lord Saladin. It will start on October 10th, 2 AM PST and end on October 17th, 2 AM PST with Control as the main game type.
Plenty has changed about Iron Banner. Power level will not make a difference in this iteration and there are no ranks or bounties to complete. Instead, players will receive Iron Banner Tokens after each match, with more doled out with every win. These can be turned into Lord Saladin for new Engrams which contain new gear. Apparently there will be Daily and Season Milestones that will be tracked.
You’ll need to finish the campaign in order to unlock the new Tower and find Saladin there. He’ll offer an Iron Banner quest for you to complete. Like with the first game, Iron Banner will have its own playlist and matchmaking in Destiny 2.
