Destiny 2 Survival PvP Gameplay Revealed in New Trailer

Gears of War TDM meets Destiny 2's Crucible.

Bungie’s Destiny 2 received some new Crucible gameplay courtesy of IGN First and it featured a new PvP map called Altar of Flame. The real focus of the gameplay was actually the new Crucible mode Survival. Check it out below.

Much like Team Deathmatch in Gears of War’s PvP, Destiny 2’s Survival pits teams of four against each other with a set number of lives. Instead of fallen Guardians being revived, they instead consume a life to return to battle.

The team that has no lives left loses the round and whichever team wins the set number of rounds emerges victorious. Supers seem to carry over between rounds as opposed to resetting each time and there’s a very Trials of Osiris-like atmosphere to it all.

Thus far, Bungie has showcased Countdown and Control in its recent Destiny 2 open beta. Survival is an interesting new addition but time will tell how players take to it. Destiny 2 is out on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4. While the PC version releases on October 24th, PC players can try out the beta in late August.
