Bungie’s Destiny 2 is receiving new gameplay footage courtesy of IGN First and to start off this week, we finally get a look at one of the new Crucible maps. It’s called Endless Vale and it’s located on Nessus, a Centaur minor planet that the Vex have heavily mechanized.
The Vex architecture is immediately apparent but what’s more interesting are the changes to Control, Destiny’s objective zone capture PvP mode. This time around, there’s no neutralization process when capturing Zones – you straightaway capture a Zone when standing on it.
Furthermore, multiple players are no longer needed to accelerate the capture process. Another neat little touch is that the capture flags turn more transparent the closer you get, thus allowing for a clear line of sight at all times. Capturing zones will still increase the number of points earned per kill but matches are generally shorter now.
Destiny 2’s open beta starts on July 21st and ends on July 23rd for Xbox One and PS4. Those who pre-order on the PS4 get early access on July 18th while Xbox One pre-orders get it on July 19th.
