Destiny 2 Will have Multiple Layers Of Storytelling, Says Bungie’s Luke Smith

A story would be a good addition to Destiny.

One of the biggest criticisms for the original Destiny – and anyone who followed that game knows there were a lot of criticisms for that game – was the story and how it was told. This was also a problem that, owing to how the narrative in the original game was structured, could not be fixed by the expansions, unlike some of Destiny‘s other problems.

This is apparently an area that has received a lot of attention in Destiny 2. So much so that Bungie’s Luke Smith is pretty optimistic about how it has all turned out. “Broadly speaking, I think the biggest change in Destiny 2 it’s probably the inclusion of a story,” he said to GamesRadar. “”It’s actually focusing on having a followable narrative, and having a big sort of storyline, epic scenario. Layering the story content in a way we haven’t done yet for Destiny.”

Of course, Bungie used to be able to craft somewhat compelling narratives in its games with the original Halo trilogy- so hopefully, they manage to get some of that magic back for Destiny 2.
