Following its server maintenance yesterday, the newest seasonal event for Bungie’s Destiny 2 is now live with Crimson Days. The Valentine’s Day themed event features new cosmetics to earn, the return of Crimson Doubles and the Burnout, a remake of Destiny 1’s Burning Shrine map.
Crimson Doubles is a 2v2 mode but unlike in its predecessor, there’s matchmaking. If you stick close to your partner, then your abilities will recharge quickly. Separating from your partner will give away your respective positions. In this team shooting meta, it shouldn’t be tough to stay together. On the other hand, the quick recharge for abilities is already garnering positive feedback from fans (those that are still left, that is).
Crimson Engrams have a chance to drop from Crimson Doubles matches but you can also earn one from leveling up (with a normal Bright Engram also conferred). Even better is the fact that you won’t get any duplicates from Crimson Engrams. What’s more is that Crimson Engrams can only be earned from leveling up and not purchased at Eververse. There are also various activities to complete in-game for earning a new Sparrow, emote, Exotic weapon ornament, which are as follows:
- Complete the milestone “Welcome to Crimson Days” by finishing five Crimson Days matches and visiting Lord Shaxx in the Tower to earn the Fire of the Crimson Days Emblem and the Tirastrella Ghost Shell.
- Complete matches in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist for a chance to earn the Undeterred Exotic Sparrow.
- Complete either the Leviathan Raid or the Raid Lair: Eater of Worlds to claim the Dieselpunk Exotic Ornament for Wardcliff Coil from the final chest.
- Complete the Nightfall Strike during the Crimson Days event to earn the Flaunting Dance Emote.
