Destiny House of Wolves: How Ether Keys Will Work in Prison of Elders

Wondering how your new keys will work? Find out here.

If you’ve been even slightly active over the weekend in Bungie’s Destiny, then you’ll know that the latest patch 1.2.0 recently dropped the Queen’s Wrath event on players. Petra Venj returned to the Tower and doled out bounties to Guardians for hunting the house of Wolves. The Wolves subsequently became new public events across Earth, the Moon and Venus, rewarding Ether Chests to players.

Some of these Ether Chests offer up Treasure Keys for the Prison of Elders, the end-game activity coming in House of Wolves. But how will these keys work? Can you hoard them, cash them in after a successful run and receive more than one reward?

Not quite. IGN recently spoke about the Treasure Keys and explained how they would work. After completing one run in the Prison of Elders – say, at level 32 – you’ll receive a Treasure Key which can be redeemed for a reward (which is standard). If you then choose to run the activity again, you’ll be able to cash in a second Treasure Key for rewards at the end since the boss will not give you a Key until the Weekly Refresh.

You won’t be able to cash in multiple keys at once but this does provide an incentive to attempt the activity again once you’ve finished for the week.

Destiny: House of Wolves is out on May 19th. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days.
