Destiny Patch 2.3.0 Notes Explain New Heroic Strike Modifiers

How are the new Heroic Strike modifiers chosen? Find out here.

If you’re an avid player of Destiny, you’ll have noticed something strange with patch 2.3.0 (and no, we’re not talking about hand cannons suddenly being great because please). In the Vanguard Heroic Strike playlist, which bumps up the Year Two and some Year One Strikes to Light level 260, you’ll see new modifiers like Arc Burn or Catapult.

Bungie has updated its patch notes to reveal the randomly select group of modifiers and how they’re decided. There are three groups of modifiers and each week, the Heroic Strike playlist will select one modifier from each group.

The groups in question are Small Arms, Specialist, Brawler and Catapult (Group 1); Airborne, Solar Burn, Arc Burn and Void Burn (Group 2); and Juggler, Fresh Troops, Ironclad, Exposure, Chaff and Angry (Group 3). It was also specifically mentioned that Trickle, a much maligned modifier that affects the recharge rate of all of your abilities, will not be applied to Heroic Strikes.

What are your thoughts on these new additions and how do they improve the Heroic Strike experience? Let us know in the comments.
