Destiny Players Decrypt 105 Million Engrams With House of Wolves Release

Players garner 11.2 billion glimmer from the Cryptarch at the expansion's launch.

Bungie’s Destiny recently received its second expansion with House of Wolves, which introduces a new Arena activity in the Prison of Elders and a new competitive PvP event called Trials of Osiris that will be kicking off tomorrow. However, in the lead-up to House of Wolves, the Queen’s Wrath event introduced some interesting new bounties that could net players materials, engrams and treasure keys from Ether Chests. Due to the nature of these chests, the engrams within could only be decrypted when House of Wolves released.

Now that the expansion is available, Bungie offered an amazing statistic to IGN – 105 million engrams were decrypted at the launch of House of Wolves with 11.2 billion glimmer being generated by the Cryptarch as a result. Keep in mind that several players have alternate characters which would be carrying the numerous engrams collected but even if the total number of active players isn’t close to the 20 million registered players mark, this proves a large portion of them are still playing.
