Destiny Rise of Iron Campaign Mode Detailed, Will Have Awesome End Game Content

Looks like Bungie is treating it seriously this time around.

Does anyone even play Destiny for the campaign? More than even Activision’s Call of Duty franchise, Destiny has come to be known for the various flavors of multiplayer that it offers- co-op and competitive. The campaign, with its choppy storytelling and refusal to expand on what appears to be intriguing lore, is largely dismissed as a missed opportunity at this point, with most players mostly playing it for its importance to the larger metagame surrounding the game and its loot, than anything else.

And yet, it seems as though Bungie are treating the story in the upcoming Destiny expansion, Rise of Iron, will be taking the campaign very seriously this time around. Speaking to Super2BitRise of Iron‘s director Christopher Barrett explained how the team is approaching the campaign and the story this time around.

“It’s a significant campaign, it’s a large expansion, it’s got new story missions, it’s got a whole new social space, new quests, a lot of cool new endgame content… there’s a lot of stuff there, I think players will really enjoy it,” he said, although he did decline to comment on whether or not the campaign will be longer than the one in The Taken King this time around.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is due out on PS4 and Xbox One this September.
