Destiny Undergoing “Planned Maintenance” from 4 AM PST Onwards

Players won't be able to log in to the shooter till maintenance finishes.

Bungie’s Destiny is currently down for maintenance. No further details have been given regarding the reason for maintenance or its duration, except for a tweet by Bungie which stated that, “Players will be unable to sign into Destiny for planned maintenance at 4am PDT on Thursday, July 9th.”

Some players have speculated that changes could be afoot. The last big maintenance period for Destiny actually made some changes, such as Trials of Osiris players who went flawless not receiving all their Passage Coins back from the big chest on Mercury. It’s unlikely that anything major is changed but we’ll let you know if there’s indeed anything earth-shattering.

Bungie is currently busy working on Destiny’s next DLC called The Taken King which adds a bunch of new story missions, new sub-classes, a new enemy race called the Taken and a new raid centered around Oryx, Crota’s father. It will be out on September 15th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.
