Destiny’s Nightfall is Cerberus Vae III, No Burns

Yes, that's right. No burns.

Destiny’s Nightfall and Heroic Strikes, which provide a chance for Exotics and Strange Coins respectively, have changed with this week’s refresh are finally live. This week, it’s the Cerberus Vae III Strike on Mars with Valus Ta’aurc as your primary target.

The Nightfall modifiers include Epic (aggressive enemies in larger numbers with shields), Lightswitch (enemies do increased melee damage), Angry (enemies don’t flinch), Juggle (no ammo for your equipped weapon) and Nightfall (fireteam returns to orbit if everyone dies in a Darkness Zone). Given the health of Valus Ta’aurc and the overall length of the strike, no burns will make it a significantly more trying exercise.

The Heroic Strike is a little bit kinder but only slightly so with Lightswitch and Heroic (more aggressive enemies) modifiers active. For both Strikes, it’s advisable to go with the Vision of Confluence (which can penetrate Solar shields) and Ice Breaker (its regenerating ammo helping you with Juggler active). Beware of the Psions whose shockwaves can down you quickly and come equipped with Void shields in the Nightfall.
