Diablo 4 Developer Will Fix UI Issue That Defaults to Activating Premium Battle Pass

Blizzard's Adam Fletcher says a hotfix is coming soon to ensure that controller players default to the Season Journey button instead.

If over-zealous nerfs and lackluster content weren’t enough, Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 also suffers from a particularly annoying UI issue causing players to enable the Premium Battle Pass. This is because the button for activating the Premium pass is close to the Season Journey button. Players would open the interface to check the latter and accidentally click on the former (since the game defaults to it).

Of course, this applies to those who purchased the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition and had the Premium Battle Pass ready but weren’t looking to activate it. It also seemingly affects controller players more than those on mouse and keyboard. However, the fact that it doesn’t even provide any confirmation pop-up has garnered criticism.

Adam Fletcher, global community development director for Diablo, responded on X (formerly known as Twitter), noting that a temporary fix is in the works. It will “at least ensure the cursor isn’t defaulted there and will instead be defaulted on Season Journey.” The hotfix will go live soon, so stay tuned.

Diablo 4 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our review, and Blizzard’s plans for future updates here.
