As part of its post-launch support, Diablo 4 associate game director Joe Piepiora has revealed that the game will be getting updates with new story content every three months. Piepiora revealed this as part of Game Informer’s recent cover story featuring Diablo 4 (via GameSpot).
According to Piepiora, the new story content will be tied to new mechanics and features that will be added to the game in every update. While Piepiora hesitates in using the word “expansion” to describe the content, he does refer to the planned quarterly updates as “meaty”.
Blizzard revealed its plans for Diablo 4‘s endgame content earlier this month through new trailer, starting with talking about the Capstone Dungeons, which unlock the first Capstone Passive for a character. Other endgame features include the Codex of Power, Helltide Areas, and PvP in the Fields of Hatred. More details will also be shared in an upcoming developer update livestream
Diablo 4 is slated for release on June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Blizzard recently also revealed global launch timings in an extensive update here.
