Diablo Immortal’s Main Campaign is Around 20 Hours Long, Post-Launch Content Teased

The goal is to release a new dungeon or zone every few months with new story content. Features that didn't make it may also come in future patches.

Diablo Immortal is almost here and despite the derision it inspired back at BlizzCon 2018, there’s genuine interest in how the free-to-play action RPG could pan out. Speaking to GameSpot, senior game designer Scott Burgess revealed that the main campaign will take about 20 hours to finish at launch. More content is in the works for afterwards.

“We’re going to continue to release content on a regular cadence. Our goal is every few months we’re going to release either a new dungeon or zone, and with that comes brand-new story content players can play through.” When a more detailed road-map will be revealed is unknown. However, Burgess noted that several ideas were left out of the game before release which could be added in future patches.

Speaking about the game itself, Burgess feels that it’s a “true Diablo game” but one that’s also approachable for newcomers. “It’s dark, gritty. It’s going to make all the Diablo fans that loved getting scared doing dungeon crawls, they’re going to love it. But it’s also a very approachable game for players who’ve never tried a Diablo game before.”

Diablo Immortal releases on June 2nd for iOS and Android along with PC (which is currently available to pre-load). There have been concerns about the game’s pay-to-win systems – you can check out Burgess’s reply on the subject here.
