DOOM’s multiplayer is now being handled by id Software and a new update arrived for its weapons. Here’s the thing though – no specific information was provided when the update went live.
Information is now available via the Bethesda forums and the changes are interesting – the Combat Shotgun and Super Shotgun have had their effective ranges reduced. The speed at which players can switch these weapons has also been adjusted to address an exploit where players could reduce reload timings by using these two guns together.
As for the Chaingun, players no longer suffer slower movement speed when the barrels are spinning, thus allowing for better evasion in encounters. The Plasma Rifle has had its rate of fire increased though damage has been decreased slightly. Meanwhile, the Heavy Assault Rifle sees slightly faster weapon draw time to make it more effective for long range shooting.
