Id Software continues to update DOOM with free patches, with the most recent one that adds Arcade Mode to the campaign. This turns the single-player mode into a score-based shooter where everything is unlocked. From there, you’ll need to prioritize score multipliers, not taking hits and racking up the highest score.
Multiplayer receives two new modes – Possession, which is Infection from Halo. However, the difference is that one team of Marines will be facing one player operating a Prowler. Once a Marine dies, he becomes the Prowler.
The other new mode is Bloodrush, a free-for-all type that features a constantly draining meter. Kills and assists will build it up but once the meter is drained, you’re dead and the rate it speeds up is increased as the match continues.
SnapMap also receives some updates as it allows players to create maps with classic Doom assets. There are also some classic Doom maps that have been added along with some new classic Doom secrets.
