Dragon Quest 11 S Japanese Version Has Gone Gold; Western Version Close To Finished

The game is primed and ready for launch (almost).

A lot has been talked about recently in regards to the legendary Japanese RPG series, Dragon Quest, from its past in the possibility of remakes of previous titles, to the future of the various games to come. But for the present, there’s Dragon Quest XI- specifically the enhanced re-release that will come to the Switch with the “S” subtitle. And today we learned that it is done (or, well, mostly).

Via his official Twitter, Producer Hokuto Okamoto said that the Japanese version of the title had gone gold, meaning development is officially complete and production of discs can begin. He does say that the western version isn’t quite finished yet, but considering the game has a simultaneous worldwide release, it’s probably pretty close to the finish line.

Dragon Quest XI S will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on September 27th, just in time for the Switch Lite revision due out week earlier.
