Last week in Japan, Dragon Quest 11 S had an impressive debut, selling over 300,000 units and topping the charts. This week’s data for software and hardware sales in Japan is in, courtesy of Famitsu, and the Square Enix RPG’s Switch version has managed to hold on to its lead. It’s seen a drop in sales though, selling over 57,000 over the course of the week.
Entering the charts at second place on its debut is Ubisoft’s latest open world shooter, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, selling just under 55,000 units. Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – Master Edition continue to perform well as well, coming in at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. Meanwhile, Code Vein, which debuted in second place last week, has fallen down to fifth place, with nearly 13,000 units sold.
On the hardware front, there’s been a drop in sales for both the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch, with both consoles managing roughly half as much sales as they did last week. The Switch sold over 89,000 units, down from over 196,000 last week, while the PS4 is down from over 24,000 units to over 12,000 units this week.
