Dragon’s Dogma 2 Crosses 184,000 Concurrent Players on Steam

The acclaimed open-world action RPG is off to a strong start, with peak concurrent player numbers beating out other big RPGs this year.

Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2, a sequel to the 2012 cult classic, is now available worldwide. While it may be some time before sales are announced, the PC version has peaked at 184,724 concurrent players on Steam, per SteamDB.

Compare this to Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which peaked at 27,368 concurrent players on Steam in January 2016. It’s also impressive compared to other big-name role-playing games launched this year, including Like Dragon: Infinite Wealth (46,161), Granblue Fantasy: Relink (114,054) and Persona 3 Reload (45,002).

Overall, it’s a pretty strong start for a title Capcom expects to become “million-selling” title. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Check out our review here, where we awarded it 10 out of 10 for its setting, combat, organic and rewarding exploration, and much more. It’s not without some issues, especially on PC, which Capcom is investigating and working on fixes for. Stay tuned for further updates in the coming weeks.
