Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s First $70 Game

The open world action RPG is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 22, 2024.

Even as an increasing number of AAA publishers have started selling their games for $70 since the current console generation kicked off, Capcom has stuck to the previous $60 standard, including with major releases like Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6. However, the Japanese publisher is now making that transition.

At the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase, Capcom officially announced March launch date for the title and showcased new gameplay footage. In addition, the company also confirmed that the open world action RPG will be sold at a price of $69.99 on all platforms, making it Capcom’s first game to be sold at that price.

Earlier this year, speaking about the topic of game prices, Capcom’s chief operating officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto said he felt prices were currently “too low”, so the company’s decision to switch to a higher pricing model doesn’t come as a huge shock, especially with most AAA publishers have already adopted said model.
