Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Warfarer and Vocation Maisters Detailed

The Maisters exist throughout the sequel's world and can unlock new Vocations and skills if you deepen your bonds with them.

Fresh off dropping trailer for the new Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Warfarer, Capcom has provided details on some of its Skills on the PlayStation Blog. The Warfarer is exclusive to the Arisen, the player character, and can use weapon types and core skills of other Vocations. It’s the “ultimate Vocation” in a way.

“Some vocations excel at close combat or are skilled at support, and the Warfarer can utilize the strengths of each vocation as the situation demands. The Warfarer has the potential to release powerful combos, such as using Trickster skills to deceive enemies and open opportunities to chant powerful attack magick.”

There are drawbacks like lower basic stats and having to carry multiple weapons for using their Skills (which takes up inventory space and weight. It’s also dependent on the player’s knowledge of a Vocation for using its skills in the best situation. Otherwise, you’re just using a “lesser version of each of the respective Vocations.”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 also has Vocation Maisters, like Lennart, the Fighter Maister; Siguard, the Mystic Spearhand Maister; and more. By building relationships with the Maisters, you can receive tomes for new Vocations or “Maister’s Teachings”, which grant skills.

Heavenly Shot, taught by the Archer Maister, fires a max power arrow but completely consumes your stamina. The Mystic Spearhand Maister’s Wild Furie creates a magick clone to deal both physical and magick damage.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on March 22nd for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Head here for details on the lack of quest boards and markers. Fast travel also has some restrictions that are worth reading up on.
