Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Steam Version Will Add the Option to Start New Saves

"We will announce more details as soon as we can," Capcom has said in an update published on the game's Steam page.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has enjoyed near-universal acclaim from critics, though in the immediate aftermath of its release, the open world action RPG has sparked controversy following the emergence of an in-game microtransactions store, on top of technical and performance issues found in the game’s PC version. In an update on Steam, Capcom has addressed number of these issues, as part of which the developer confirms that it will also be adding the option to start new saves to the game’s Steam version.

For context, though players can currently start new saves in Dragon’s Dogma 2, that’s not an option that’s available anywhere in the game itself, with players instead being required to go into the game’s file on their PC or console to manually delete the existing save file.

“We are looking at adding a feature to the Steam version of the game that will allow players that are already playing to restart the game,” Capcom says. “We will announce more details as soon as we can.”

It’s worth noting that Dragon’s Dogma 2 only allows single save file. Prior to release, director Hideaki Itsuno said that restriction was placed in order to “encourage exploration.” Read more on that through here.
