EA Cancels All Live Competitive Events Due To Coronavirus Concerns

More cancellations due to the current global outbreak.

The world is on something of a standstill right now, it feels like. The coronavirus pandemic has been the cause of many different shut downs and delays. Film and TV productions have been halted, travel has been stunted, major conferences have been cancelled, and people are being urged to stay away from large groups all over the world. Now, another victim will be the live competitions from EA.

In a post on their official website, EA confirmed they are canceling all of their live events for the foreseeable future. Apex Legends Global Series, FIFA 20 Global Series, FIFA Online 4 Live, and Madden NFL 20 Championship Series will be the first affected. They are also taking it step further and having their employees work from home remotely where possible, they confirmed. Online events and competitions will continue as scheduled.

This is one of the many moves that companies and corporations are making in hopes of not spreading the coronavirus. Large gatherings such as these competitions have been discouraged by governments across the world, so it makes sense that EA is taking these steps.
