EA’s annual football franchise may have changed its name from FIFA to EA Sports FC with this year’s entry, but it’s continuing to post strong numbers where player engagement is concerned.
In its recent quarterly financial report, the company revealed that within four weeks of its release in late September, EA Sports FC 24 had over 14.5 million active accounts across all platforms. Combined with the strong sustained sales of last year’s FIFA 23 prior to the launch of this year’s instalment, the football sim series outperformed EA’s expectations for the ongoing fiscal year’s Q2 period (running from July to September).
In total, EA’s net bookings for the period stand at $1.82 billion, which is up 4% from Q2 of the previous fiscal year.
Shortly after EA Sports FC 24’s launch, EA revealed that it had sold 6.8 million units of its Ultimate Edition alone, which granted players week of early access prior to the game’s global release. Later the company confirmed that the game had been played by over 11.3 million players within a couple of weeks of its release.
EA Sports FC 24 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
