eFootball PES 2020 Secures Official Manchester United License

So long, Man Red. Hello, Manchester United.

Though Konami’s yearly football sim series Pro Evolution Soccer has consistently been making improvements to its on-pitch moment-to-moment gameplay for a few years now, other aspects have hurt its overall quality, including, most notably, its lack of major licenses. As compared to EA Sports’ FIFA games, PES seems sourly lacking in official licenses for major leagues and teams.

That said, though PES games haven’t had officially licensed versions of, say, the La Liga or the Premier League for a while, they do regularly secure those with individual teams. With the upcoming eFootball PES 2020, Konami have done so again, with a major English giant- Manchester United. The Red Devils will no longer be Man Red in PES 2020, and will have their official kits featured, while their home stadium, Old Trafford, will also be virtually recreated.

Several United players have also been body-scanned to have their likenesses recreated in the game more accurately, while the young midfielder Scott McTominay has been named an official PES 2020 ambassador. Meanwhile, United legends (with some classic United kits to boot) like David Beckham and Park Ji-Sung will also be in the game. Take a look at the announcement trailer below. We can also probably expect Manchester United to be one of the featured teams in the upcoming demo– but, of course, that hasn’t yet been confirmed.

eFootball PES 2020 launches for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 10.
