Elden Ring Has Shipped Over 30 Million Units

The open-world action RPG launched in 2022 to universal acclaim and received an expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, last year.

Elden Ring Nightreign is still a month away, but the first game continues to set new milestones with over 30 million shipments worldwide. That’s up from more than 28.6 million in December 2024.

Its first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, sold over five million units within three days of launching, though updated figures have yet to be provided. Compared to the original game, Nightreign is significantly different – it’s online-only and involves teaming up with two other players to battle the Night Lord in Limveld.

Of course, you can also play solo, though surviving over three days and nights will be more challenging. There are eight playable characters with unique abilities and Ultimate Arts to choose from, and traversal abilities are much more free-form.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Check out the system requirements here. You can also read our reviews of Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree, especially ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 release later this year.
