Elden Ring Patch 1.02.1 is Now Available for PC and PS5, Improves Anti-Cheat Start-up Issues

A bug that caused "unexpected" game closures on PS5 has also been fixed, along with reducing the files needed for loading into a new area on PC.

Following Bandai Namco’s statement on performance issues and bugs, FromSoftware has released patch 1.02.1 for Elden Ring on PS5 and PC. For PC players, it improves start-up issues related to Easy Anti-Cheat and mouse operation. It also reduces the number of files required when loading into a new area.

For PS5 players, a bug that caused “unexpected” game closures has been fixed. While it’s unknown whether this patch addresses performance issues on PC like frame rate drops and micro stutters, FromSoftware is working on the same. Sadly, this patch doesn’t fix Xbox players being unable to play online due to a version mismatch – read more about that here.

Elden Ring is currently available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Despite some of its issues on PC, its peak concurrent player count on Steam at launch crossed 764,000 players. Stay tuned for more details on updates in the coming weeks and check out our review here in the meantime.
