Elden Ring’s Online Systems Currently Broken on Xbox Due to Version Mismatch

Some Xbox players haven't been able to update to Calibrations Ver. 1.0.2.1 and App Ver. 1.02, and thus can't connect online for co-op or PvP.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has been out and about, garnering over 764,000 peak concurrent players at launch on Steam. It’s also received tons of critical acclaim – you can check out our review here for more details. There have been some problems like performance issues across all platforms. The PC version is the worst of it with micro-stutters and frame rate issues but fixes are on the way.

However, it seems that Xbox players have a completely different issue which has yet to be officially acknowledged. Due to a version mismatch on Xbox Live, some users can’t connect online for messages, co-op or PvP. As Jez Corden of Windows Central reports, the issue comes down to Calibrations Ver. 1.0.2.1 and App Ver. 1.02 – those without these updates can’t play online.

According to this Reddit post, the issue has been present since launch. Given the importance of online features for an experience like this, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware will likely provide a response soon. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
