Epic Games Store Looking To Add Cloud Saves, Achievements, Overlay, Play Time Tracking, And More

Epic is looking to address user feedback regarding their store.

The Epic Games Store is currently lagging severely behind Steam in terms of the feature set that it offers—Epic has had instead to rely on soliciting multiple exclusives to make up for those deficiencies, and to attract people to its store. However, in the coming months, it seems like the company will be working at patching those holes up nicely, based on a roadmap they have shared.

By May, Epic is looking at adding support for cloud saves. They are also looking at redesigning the store page, adding the ability to search by genre and tags, support for DLC bundles, and more in the next three months. In the next four to six months, they want to add wishlists, newsfeed, user reviews, player play time tracking, an Epic Games Store overlay, and mod support. Finally, they want to add Achievements, social features, and direct carrier billing.

All of this sounds good, and hopefully Epic will feel comfortable enough with its storefront on its own merits that it won’t feel the need to poach storefront exclusives anymore.
