F1 22 Updates In-Game Spanish, Australian, and Abu Dhabi Tracks to Match Real-World Versions

New layouts, detailed heights and cambers, updated turns, and more runoff are some of the changes made to these tracks in-game.

Codemasters’ F1 series makes no bones about being the most realistic depiction of Formula 1 racing on the market. This extends to the tracks as well, with the developer and publisher Electronic Arts announcing updates to the Spanish, Australian, and Abu Dhabi circuits in F1 22 to match their real-world versions. You can check out each of the update trailers below to see what’s changed.

The Spanish track, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, offers a new layout on Turn 10 while the offtrack areas in Turns 10 to 14 have been updated. Australia’s Albert Park circuit has more detailed height and camber, thanks to LIDAR data, with outfield walls being repositioned and turn layouts updated. Finally, on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, the hairpin on Turn 5 has been moved for more runoff while the chicane is gone.

F1 22 is out on July 1st for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC but those who pick up the Champions Edition can play it three days early. For more details on other features, like VR support, head here.
