Fallout 4: Don’t Expect It To Be Announced At PAX South Today

Don't get your hopes up high.

Make no mistake, I love the Fallout franchise and it never leaves the confines of my HDD, where it will stay forever. I want Fallout 4 to be announced soon, but I understand why that won’t happen anytime soon. I get that Bethesda are focusing on The Elder Scrolls Online for PC and consoles, given their recent decision to go subscription free post-purchase with the game.

But at this point, they need to announce something new. Today is PAX South’s last day, and like every other trade show that has come and gone in the past months, there were reports around the internet that Bethesda may announce the game at the event. But the chances of them doing that are slim.

Like Rockstar, Bethesda have a tendency to just chip away at things until they are ready to release information. They do things in their own time, just look at how long it took them to get The Elder Scrolls Online into a state they were happy with for consoles. If we were to hear something about Fallout 4 making an appearance at a show, then I feel we would be seeing hints dropped left, right and centre.

In short, I don’t expect to see it at PAX South. And given that today is the last day of the event, it just doesn’t feel right that they will surprise us with such a big announcement at PAX. I hope I am wrong but there are no valid indications of Bethesda announcing Fallout 4 today. But what are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section below.
