A guide to all weapons and armors in Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 is now out- Bethesda’s magnum opus is a sprawling RPG, set in a near distant future, where nuclear war has wracked Boston and laid it to waste. Boston is now a wasteland inhabited by mutated beasts, and people who have lost all humanity in their bid for survival- and without warning, this is the situation you find yourself in in Fallout 4.

LEGENDARY WEAPONS AND ARMOR EFFECTS

As the name implies, in Fallout 4, you can often find Legendary gear- this is far beyond regular gear. Legendary gear is usually more powerful, has better passive effects, and more devastating abilities. Legendary gear can usually be found by taking on Legendary enemies in the wasteland. Once they are killed, they drop the gear for you.

Legendary Weapons Effects:

  • Assassin’s50% more damage against humans
  • Automatic:Automatic fire mode
  • Berserker’sMore damage the lower your damage resistance is
  • Bloodied: More damage the lower your health is
  • Cavalier’s: 15% less damage while blocking or sprinting
  • Crippling: 50% more limb damage
  • Enraging: Critical hits cause target to frenzy
  • Explosive: Bullets explode on impact doing 15 area effect damage
  • Exterminator’s: 50% more damage against Mirelurks and bugs.
  • Freezing: 10 points cryo damage and will freeze targets on critical hits
  • Furious: Damage increase after each hit on same target
  • Ghoul Slayer’s: 50% more damage against Ghouls
  • Hunter’s: 50% more damage against animals
  • Incendiary: Sets target on fire for 15 points of damage
  • Instigating: 2x damage if the target is at full health
  • Irradiated: 50 points additional radiation damage
  • Junkie’s: Damage increase more withdrawal affects you are suffering
  • Kneecapper: 20% chance to cripple the target’s leg
  • Lucky Weapon: Critical shots do double damage and the critical meter fills 15% faster
  • Medic’s: Heals targets instead of hurting them
  • Mutant Slayer’s50% more damage against Super Mutants
  • Never Ending: Unlimited ammo capacity
  • Nimble: 75% faster movement while aiming
  • Nocturnal: Does increasing amounts of damage as the night grows longer and less damage during the day
  • Penetrating: Ignores 30% of the target’s damage and energy resistance
  • Plasma Infused: Adds 10 points of energy damage and can turn enemies into goo
  • Poisoner’s: Target is poisoned for 10 seconds
  • Powerful: Provides 25% more damage
  • Quickdraw: Costs 25% fewer Action Points
  • Rapid: Provides 25% faster fire rate, 15% faster reload
  • Relentless: Refills your Action Points on a critical hit
  • Sentinel’s: 15% less damage while standing and not moving
  • Staggering: Chance to stagger on hit
  • Stalker’s: If you are not yet in combat, increases VATS accuracy but costs more AP
  • Troubleshooter’s: Does 50% more damage against robots.
  • Two Shot: Shoots an additional projectile
  • VATS Enhanced: Improved VATS hit chance, 25% less Action Point cost
  • VATS Enhanced: 40% less Action Point cost
  • Violent: Deals +25% damage and limb damage, but has more recoil
  • Wounding: Targets bleed for 25 points of additional damage

Legendary Armor Effects:

  • V.A.T.S. Enhanced10% reduction in Action Point costs in V.A.T.S.
  • Powered: Increases Action Point refresh speed
  • Chameleon: Hard to detect while sneaking and not moving

  • Duelist’s: 10% chance to disarm melee attacker on hit

  • Titan’s: 15 % reduces damage while standing and not moving

Legendary gear can be made even more effective than it already is, since it, too, can be further enhanced with mods.

ALL UNIQUE AND EXCEPTIONAL WEAPONS LOCATIONS

Fallout 4 has a staggering variety of weapons- there are the standard weapons, there are the Legendary weapons, and then there are mods for both that further add to the permutations and combinations possible. There’s already a lot of different kinds of firepower at your disposal in the game. Fallout 4, however, adds more, thanks to its Unique and Exceptional weapons. These can often be earned as a reward for completing quests, or by defeating specific enemies. Here, we list all of them, and where to find them.

2076 World Series Baseball Bat

  • How to Get: It’s a reward under Jamaica Plain City Hall.

Ashmaker

  • Effect: Chance to light targets on fire
  • How to Get: Reward for siding with Fahrenheit at the end of Side Quest: The Big Dig

Automatic Laser Musket (Laser musket)

  • Effect: Capable of automatic firing
  • How to Get: Given to you during the final assault, at the start of The Minutemen Quest: The Nuclear Option.

AX90 Fury (Plasma gun)

  • Effect: 50% more damage vs Super Mutants
  • How to Get: Sold by Teagan (The Prydwen)

Big Boy (Fat Man)

  • Effect: Shoots an additional projectile
  • How to Get: Sold by Arturo (Diamond City)

Big Jim (Pipe wrench)

  • Effect: 20% chance to cripple the target’s leg
  • How to Get: This can be found in Walden Pond

Broadsider (Broadsider)

  • Effect: Unknown
  • How to Get: Reward for Side Quest: Last Voyage of the U.S.S. Constitution.

Death From Above (Missile launcher)

  • Effect: 75% faster movement while aiming
  • How to Get: Missile launcher sold by Proctor Teagan, once you reach the rank of Paladin.

Deathclaw Gauntlet

  • Effect: Unknown
  • How to Get: A possible reward for completing Side Quest: The Devil’s Due

Deliverer

  • Effect: Unknown
  • How to Get: Reward for completing The Railroad Quest: Tradecraft

Eddie’s Peace (.44)

  • Effect: Deals extra limb damage

Experiment 18-A (Plasma gun)

  • Effect: 25% faster fire rate, 15% faster reload
  • How to Get: Sold by Institute Requisitions (The Institute).

Final Judgment (Laser Gatling Gun)

  • Effect: 25% faster fire rate, 15% faster reload
  • How to Get: Carried by Elder Maxson; you must remove it from him during Institute Quest: Airship Down, or The Railroad Quest: Precipice of Wars. Try not to piss him off when you do it.

Furious Power Fist

  • Effect: Increased damage after each consecutive hit on the same target
  • How to Get: Remove the threat of Swan in Boston Common.

General Chao’s Revenge (Sword)

  • Effect: Does 50% more damage against robots
  • How to Get: Sold by Trudy (Drumlin Diner)

Good Intentions (Laser gun)

  • Effect: Critical hits cause target to frenzy
  • How to Get: Carried by the Gunner leader Clint on the elevated freeway camp

Grognak’s Axe

  • Effect: Hits cause more stagger and targets take bleed damage
  • How to Get: Found in a display case within Hubris Comics.

HalluciGen Gas Grenade

  • Effect: Chance to Frenzy targets for 60 seconds
  • How to Get: Built with materials found in the basement laboratory of HalluciGen Inc.

Homing Beacon (Grenade)

  • Effect: Calls down a missile strike from Zao’s sub
  • How to Get: A reward for completing Side Quest: Here There Be Monsters

Institute Beacon (Grenade)

  • Effect: Spawn Synths at beacon’s location
  • How to Get: Reward for completing The Institute Quest: Airship Down

Junk Jet

  • Effect: Unknown
  • How to Get: Located in ArcJet Systems, collect during or after Brotherhood of Steel Quest: Call to Arms

Justice (Shotgun)

  • Effect: Increased damage from sneak attacks. Targets bleed
