Here we go again in the never ending game of swings and roundabouts that we’re playing in search of everything and anything we can possibly find relating to Fallout 4. This time the news came in the form of a “is this another hoax?” filing to the USPTO, that’s the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The filing was for the Pip Boy device, a staple of the Fallout Universe that has come to represent the series in some way. This time however, unlike the Fallout: Shadow of Boston filing which I told you was fake, is actually a real filing on Bethesda’s part. Though don’t get your hopes up, it’s nothing particularly exciting.
Speaking by way of Twitter, Bethesda Softworks said, “Not a hoax. our filing. just protecting our trademark. also helps in dealing with infringement stuff.” So whether or not this is simply downplaying a move on the series, or just an honest filing is for you to decide. But hey, there are no breaks on this train.
