The first official review of Square’s highly anticipated sequel to 2009’s Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy 13-2 has received its first official review, being just a few days away from release in Japan. Respected Japanese publication Famitsu has given it a 40/40, more than what the aforementioned FFXIII got, which was 39/40.
The review says the game fixes the issues that the original had, and offers a lot of content.
Fans have been looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII-2 for a long time, since it takes the series back to its exploratory and open ways, as opposed to Final Fantasy XIII, which was a very linear and focused adventure.
This is Famitsu’s third perfect score in 2011, after giving a 40/40 to both, Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
FInal Fantasy XIII-2 releases early next year in the west for Xbox 360 and PS3. Stay tuned for continued coverage.
