FBC: Firebreak Guide – All Six Weapons And How To Unlock Them

Discover all six firearms in FBC: Firebreak and learn how to unlock them.

FBC: Firebreak currently has precious few weapons in its arsenal, just six to be precise. Of these, three are available by default, and the remaining three must be unlocked via game progression. With clear distinction in their roles, each weapon has something going for it.

This guide is a listing of all current weapons in FBC: Firebreak, their best pros, and how to unlock them.

Submachine Gun

A medium-range automatic with a large clip and rapid reloads that gains significant control when fired in controlled bursts.

Default Unlock

A mid to close range weapon, the SMG is good for spitting a lot of bullets in a short time frame, while doing decent damage to targets. Not recommended for confrontations with Powerful Enemies, at least not without upgrades and perks active. This weapon is ideal for players that have difficulty aiming for the head using the Revolver. Ammunition is plentiful, and certain perks like Pocket Dimensions, Jade Rounds, and Impact Rounds will keep you firing away for as long as possible.

Upgrade the Submachine Gun up to Tier 3 through Operational Essentials Requisitions.

Double-Barrel Shotgun

A close-range shotgun with powerful stagger and heavy damage against health and armor.

Default Unlock

Despite being available from the start, you are unlikely to use the Double-Barrel Shotgun very much if at all, as the Revolver and the Submachine Gun will be your preferred pairing. By the time you unlock upgrades or any good perks for it, you will also have access to other better alternatives such as the Bolt-Action Rifle and the Machine Gun instead. One reason to select the Double-Barrel Shotgun early on, would be its close range potency to stagger medium enemies while disintegrating weaker ones. Mob control is terrible though, due to its two-round capacity and interminable reload time.

Revolver

A long-range, single-shot precision weapon that rewards sharp aim while prioritizing mobility.

Default Unlock

Despite being a starter weapon unlocked by default, the Revolver will likely be your go to firearm even as you progress deeper into the game. With its massive stopping power, you can expect to one-shot headshot most basic enemies. A gun with a versatile range, it has a much better rate of fire and reload speed than the Bolt-Action Rifle. One significant hurdle may be the low quantity of ammunition available to you in the reserve pool.

Upgrade the Revolver up to Tier 3 through Operational Essentials Requisitions.

Machine Gun

A medium-range automatic with a high fire rate and large magazine.

Unlock using 20 Lost Assets in the Requisitions menu

The massive magazine in this heavy weapon makes it a beefed-up SMG, however it will be a while before you unlock it through the Requisitions system. While excellent at crowd control, you will be struggling to reload it quickly enough when you get mobbed, so you may want to bring along something to distract enemies for the duration.

Upgrade the Machine Gun up to Tier 3 through Operational Essentials Requisitions.

Pump-Action Shotgun

A medium-range shotgun with a large clip proficient at staggering enemies and shredding their armor.

Unlock using 20 Lost Assets in the Requisitions menu

This shotgun has significantly higher range than the Double-Barrel Shotgun, possibly on par with the Submachine Gun, with the added benefit of staggering enemies if they have not already been turned to mist. Be sure to cancel reload animations in order to maintain a high rate of fire. The Pump-Action Shotgun would be most effectively used against Powerful Enemies and tightly packed mobs of enemies for maximum ammunition efficiency.

Upgrade the Pump-Action Shotgun up to Tier 3 through Operational Essentials Requisitions.

Bolt-Action Rifle

A long-range, single-shot precision weapon with powerful stagger and armor piercing capabilities.

Unlock using 20 Lost Assets in the Requisitions menu

A highly destructive long-range gun that is marred by a terrible rate of fire, especially in the tight confines of most job sites. Solo players should avoid this weapon, unless very experienced, and even then they can expect to be mobbed by large groups of enemies during reloads. Aim for weak spots on Powerful Enemies to immediately cut down their health bars significantly.

How To Unlock Weapons

The process for unlocking guns in FBC: Firebreak is the same for all of them: grind for Lost Assets and then use that in-game currency to unlock Requisitions through the menu. The best sources of Lost Assets are:

  • Shelters: These locations need to be activated, and carry the risk of drawing a wave of enemies, but each can reward you with at least five Lost Assets within. You will probably need these anyway, for the respawn point and ammunition resupply, so the Lost Assets are an added bonus.
  • Powerful Enemies: Elite, named enemies who have yellow health bars and guarantee a reward drop of Lost Assets. You will come across a few of these by default, so you might as well farm them for currency.
  • Random Spawns: Lost Assets are strewn about the job sites, and can spawn just about anywhere. Now that the update patch has made them more readily visible, you should not have too much difficulty spotting these stationery-type props like clipboards and file folders. Their random nature might mean that you waste a lot of time scouring the job site for them though, so deprioritize this method if you are pressed for time.
  • Successfully Extract: You must leave the job site in one piece in order to keep your Lost Assets, as dying drops them where you fell. You can pick them up on respawn, or your teammates can snap them up too, but one way or another you have to make it out alive. You can also lose them by quitting or disconnecting midway through the missions.

Those are all six of the weapons currently available for use in FBC: Firebreak, their positives and negatives, and how to unlock them.
