Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age comes to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this month. Ahead of that release, courtesy of Direct Feed Games, we have a comparison video for the Switch and PS4 versions of the title, putting their graphics head-to-head.
It’s remarkable how well the Switch version holds up- the differences are minimal and very hard to spot. A lot of this probably has to do with the fact that The Zodiac Age is a remaster of a PS2 game—a very good remaster, but the core game is still a PS2 one, and the Switch’s power far exceeds that of the PS2 to begin with. Even so, the two versions being compare here are almost on par with each other, with some very minor differences in lighting and shadows intermittently visible if you really want to look for them. On the whole, it seems like there isn’t much of a price to pay for portability with The Zodiac Age on Switch.
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age is out now on PS4 and PC, and will launch for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on April 30. If you want to see more footage of the game running on the Switch, make sure to check it out for yourself here.
