Final Fantasy 14 Update 2.1 Receives A Release Date

FFXIV expands with new features.

According to Square Enix, the latest patch for Final Fantasy XIV – A Realm Reborn will see a release date of December 17, and will feature a number of new elements including new dungeons, a PVP arena, and new housing.

The new dungeon is called the Crystal Tower, and houses up to 24 players at a time. The PVP arena is known as The Wolves Den. The new housing system allows for players to create a house in all three residential districts of each city-state after purchasing a plot of land.

There are a number of additional updates, which have been outlined in a video above. Some of them include Beast Tribe Quests, Treasure Hunts, and a whole host of additional side quest type adventures. This is a welcome series of updates to what has been a very controversial game.

Final Fantasy 14 is out now for PC and PS3, with a PS4 release set for April 2014.
